Outpatient Advanced Imaging in Winter Haven, FL

We recognized a need in Polk County for our referring partners. Access to state-of-the-art technology can make a world of difference in veterinary care. We offer these services as an outpatient service, allowing local veterinarians to acquire advanced diagnostics without referring the management of the case to VHA. We will complete the scans and communicate the results to the referring clinic, unless otherwise requested.

Many primary care veterinary facilities may not have access to advanced imaging tools. At VHA, we've decided to bridge this gap by offering these top imaging services to support our local veterinary community. This ensures that you and your clients have access to the best diagnostic tools available, enhancing the care you provide while keeping costs and cases within your clinic.

Our facility is equipped with a suite of cutting-edge tools that empower us to offer exceptional veterinary care through advanced imaging techniques. These sophisticated diagnostic modalities allow us to accurately identify and effectively treat a wide range of medical conditions in pets. We specialize in minimally invasive procedures, utilizing a comprehensive array of imaging technologies including ultrasounds, X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs.

This process is different from a traditional referral as we provide no recommendations or treatment options at VHA. The patient will be returned to your clinic for care.

How It Works

  1. Referral Form Submission: Team or imaging team member contacts the client to schedule the diagnostic imaging.
  2. Pre-appointment Preparation: Referring veterinarians provide clearance for sedation/anesthesia and complete appropriate bloodwork at the referring clinic.
  3. Imaging Appointment: Completed at VHA, with the report sent to the referring veterinarian for treatment.

Client Process

  1. Arrival and Check-in: Client arrives for the scheduled appointment and is checked in by a caring team member.
  2. Meet with Technician: Client meets with the imaging technician for any questions and will only meet a VHA veterinarian if selected by the referring vet (additional cost).
  3. Imaging Procedure: Imaging occurs during the appointment block, with the client choosing to wait on-site or drop off.
    • Ultrasound/Echocardiogram: 30-60 minutes
    • CT Scan: 60-120 minutes
    • MRI: 3-4 hours
  4. Discharge: Once recovered from sedation, the patient can leave. The report is sent to the referring veterinarian based on the selection on the order form.
