Corissa Antemesaris serves as the Chief Humanity Officer at Veterinary Healthcare Associates, where she focuses on the people, culture, and human experience behind exceptional veterinary medicine. With more than 30 years of experience in the veterinary profession, her background spans shelter medicine, referral and emergency medicine, internal medicine, oncology, metabolic health and Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. That clinical foundation continues to shape the compassion and understanding she brings to her leadership role today.
As Chief Humanity Officer, Corissa is passionate about cultivating a workplace where people feel seen, supported, connected, and empowered to grow. Her work encompasses organizational culture, leadership development, team wellbeing, recruitment and retention, education, and the systems and experiences that support team members throughout their journey at VHA. She believes that when people are cared for well, they are better able to care for one another, their patients, their clients, and their community.
For Corissa, the heart of VHA has always been love and connection. She finds deep fulfillment in helping people recognize their strengths, navigate challenges with compassion, and reach possibilities they may not yet see for themselves. She is especially passionate about lifelong learning and creating meaningful pathways for personal and professional growth.
Outside of VHA, Corissa shares life with her husband and their blended family of five adult children and two grandbabies. Their five-acre food forest is also home to a livestock guardian dog, six cats, 17 chickens, two cows, one pig, one tortoise, one snake, and three bearded dragons.
Corissa is passionate about herbalism, gardening, health and longevity, and environmental sustainability. Her love of herbalism extends into Dog Dayz Café, where herbs, botanicals, and seasonal ingredients often inspire creative specials and offerings. She continues to pursue learning in herbalism, holistic wellness, and traditional healing practices, bringing that same curiosity and connection to nature into both her personal life and her work.
At the center of it all is Corissa’s belief that people, pets, and the planet are deeply interconnected, and that caring for one ultimately strengthens the wellbeing of all.
