Alejandra Villalobos DVM, ER Veterinarian

Dr. Alejandra Villalobos knew from a young age that she was destined to care for animals. Her journey to veterinary medicine began with a lifelong passion, and she worked hard to turn her dream into reality. In 2013, while studying abroad in Belize and Thailand, working with elephants and large animals, she had the moment of clarity that confirmed her chosen path. “That experience made me realize I was exactly where I was meant to be,” she says.

Dr. Villalobos earned her DVM from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020, and her passion for emergency medicine has only grown. Since joining Veterinary Healthcare Associates (VHA), she’s loved the opportunity to offer patients specialized care that leads to accurate diagnoses and effective treatment. “What I love most is being able to work with a team of specialists who share the same goal—bringing pets back to health while building trust with their families,” she shares.

The mission and culture at VHA were exactly what Alejandra envisioned for her career. “At VHA, pets and their families receive the high-quality care they deserve, and I knew I wanted to be a part of a team so dedicated to that,” she explains.

At home, Alejandra enjoys spending time with her husband, Tyler, and their daughter, Elena. Their home is also filled with love from their two dogs, Lily, a Chiweenie, and Rain, a Rottweiler. Outside of work, Alejandra loves dancing, traveling, and spending time at the beach—activities that keep her grounded and allow her to recharge. “Self-care is a big part of balancing the emotional demands of emergency medicine, and VHA supports that with resources like the onsite gym, flexible schedules, and meditation pod,” she notes.

Dr. Villalobos believes that every patient teaches her something new, helping her grow as a doctor and become even better for the next pet that walks through the door.

She believes in making every moment count.
