Dr. Phelps Unnerstall earned her DVM in 2020, and completed her small animal rotating internship at Coral Springs Animal Hospital. Her journey towards becoming a veterinarian began when she was on track for human medical school. She was working at a local barn at the time, and was offered a vet tech position by the large animal vet who was working there. Dr. Phelps Unnerstall quickly accepted, and fell in love with the veterinary profession, in fact, within a year she applied to vet school to pursue her true passion. One of her favorite things about being a vet is seeing animals start feeling better after they’ve been treated, and seeing them go home happy and healthy with their owners.
In her spare time, Dr. Phelps Unnerstall enjoys hiking, boating, fishing, and reading. She and her husband share their home with a German Wirehaired Pointer named Addie.
