Susan Thomas, DVM
Dr. Susan Thomas was born in Goshen, NY the youngest of three. Her family moved to Wellington, FL in 1987 where Dr. Thomas completed high school and in 1994 began her education at the University of Florida. She completed her undergraduate degree in Animal Biology and continued on to the University of Florida School of Veterinary Medicine where she earned her DVM in 2003. Read more...
After a one year internship at the Hollywood Animal Hospital in Hollywood, FL, Dr. Thomas returned to Gainesville to focus on emergency medicine at the Affiliated Pet Emergency Services. She married Dr. Henry Thomas DVM in May 2005 and moved to Winter Haven to practice at Veterinary Healthcare Associates.
Dr. Thomas is a full-time emergency veterinarian covering the after hours shifts during the overnight and weekends. When she is not busy saving lives, Dr. Thomas is a full time mom to daughters Aeryn Elizabeth and Allison Patricia. On a slow day, she might find spare time to play video games with her husband, work out, or go shopping with friends. The Thomas’ four-legged family consists of 3 dogs, Sasha, shepherd mix, Sheba, mixed breed, Aspen, beagle mix, and 5 cats, Dexter, Mo, Kira, Solo, and Simon.
