Dr. Ruddle began her love for animals while growing up in a small rural town in Northeast Ohio. She attended Ashland University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Biology. After graduation, Dr. Ruddle elected to pursue additional training in small animal surgery. Dr. Ruddle became Board Certified Small Animal Surgeon in 2008. Tired of the cold weather, she relocated to Florida to enjoy the sunshine and warm weather and begin her surgical career.

Dr. Ruddle remains very active outside of work. She enjoys all the pleasures that Florida can offer in outdoor activities. She is also an avid traveler as she just finished an 11 day hike in Patagonia prior to her starting her at VHA.

Dr. Ruddle fell in love with Mavis a stray black mouth cur after she was brought in by the local police for being hit by a car. Knowing she could fix her broken leg and give her a good home, Dr. Ruddle adopted her. Mavis needed a dog friend, so Malin a rescue from Coastal Boxer Rescue was adopted. The two of them have caused many a grey hair on Dr. Ruddle’s head. The true master of the household is a fat sassy orange tabby named Cheddar.

Compassion

Our culture is built on a heartfelt compassion for our patients and their owners. We are animal people with a passion for helping others and healing pets. We embrace and understand the human-animal bond and empathize with our pet parents’ concerns for their most cherished family members. We care deeply, and we show that with our words and actions. We are here for both of them, owners and pets--that is the VHA Way. It matters not how much we know, unless they first know how much we care.
